Nax is a traditional village on a plateau at 1300 m altitude. It is also called the "Balcony of Heaven" and has its own ski resort. It is ideal for lovers of nature and to relax in any season. It has an exceptionally sunny microclimate. Offer yourself to the calmness and the pure air.

During your stay in the Maya Guesthouse you can enjoy various activities. Our Swiss Bed & Breakfast is a perfect starting point for all your hiking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Directly from your room you can go on a hike in the wilderness. Snowshoes are available for rent from the guesthouse.

Sports activities

Directly rom the Maya Guesthouse you can go snowshoeing or cross-country skiing (equipment for rent on site).

The Espace Mont-Noble (100m) is within walking distance.

This activity center is located in the heart of a magnificent natural setting and offers a baby lift. This snow garden is ideal for the little ones. Children and beginners will be able to learn to ski downhill enjoying a very gentle slope. Courses are offered individually or in groups.

Try the snow tubing or the sledge run. Free bob rental for the guest of the Maya Guesthouse.

Finish your day by skating on the natural skating rink. Skates are available for hire on site.

Within 3 km of the Maya Guesthouse you will find the ski resort of Nax, the Télé Mont-Noble with its low prices, offering slopes of all categories and free parking. Directly on-site: equipment rental and ski lessons with experienced instructors from the de Swiss School of Nax. 

You can also participate in ski touring or snowshoeing.

Enjoy unusual activities such as horseback riding in the snow, dog sledding by moonlight, paragliding, ice climbing and "ski joering" (skis pulled by horses).

Sports activities

The Espace Mont-Noble located just 100 meters from the Maya Guesthouse offers many summer activities such as tennis, archery, Cross Country Golf. Picnic areas and BBQ spots also available. Directly from our guesthouse you can enjoy various hikes, horseback riding or mountain biking.

The canton of Valais is "nature par excellence". A true El Dorado for golf, it offers various courses: five 9-holes between Sierre, Crans-Montana, Riederalp, Matterhorn and Source du Rhône, four 18-holes between Verbier, Sion and Crans-Montana Leukerbad.

Terroir & Heritage

Discover the Val d’Hérens and its unspoiled nature. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes the mountain offers throughout the various seasons.

The patrimony unveils itself in cities and villages. Not to miss are the many neighboring ski resorts in the Valais such as the 4 Valleys and Crans-Montana.

In less than twenty minutes you can discover the town of Sion with its shops, outdoor terraces and the Valère and Tourbillon castles.

The canton of Valais with its 5259 hectares of vineyards is the largest in Switzerland. Have a few wine tastings in the cellars and wineries of the Valais.

Less than 30 km away from us you can visit the great Dixence dam, the largest in Europe.

How to get to us

By car :

A9 – exit Sion East Val d’Hérens; follow the directions for Bramois, Nax, St-Martin. The road quickly exits the plains to climb the mountain (20 minutes).
After arrival in Nax, follow the signs for „Espace Mont-Noble“.
